World’s Most Expensive Fender Squier
by Tom Watson
A Fender Squier Stratocaster once owned by the late George Harrison brought $29,384 at a Cooper Owen auction held at London’s Hard Rock Café last night (see News Desk story from October 20, 2003).
While that’s not bad for a Squier, Harrison’s acoustic Egmond, originally bought for around $6 by Harrison’s father, brought $470,000 at the same auction. The Dutch-made Egmond was Harrison’s first guitar.
